Mason Jar Monday - Granola Pear Yogurt Parfait

I love making the granola yogurt parfaits with fresh fruit.  Local pears were at the supermarket so when they are ripe, they are perfect for granola pear yogurt parfaits.

First you peel and chop them up into pieces and put them in a small saucepan.

Heat them up on medium low heat and slowly the pears will break down.  I added a splash of cinnamon and nutmeg but it's not necessary.  The natural flavours of the pear are enough.  Once they are the consistency that you like, turn off the heat and let the chunky pear sauce cool down.  Once it is cool, you layer them in the mason jars.  Pear sauce on the bottom, plain greek yogurt in the middle and granola on top.  I put the lids on and put them in the fridge for a quick weekday breakfast.  These ones get gobbled up faster than I can make them.
